We are seeking an Occupational Medicine Consultant to join the Occupational Health Group of Environmental Protection Department.
The company’s workplace protection programs are managed by the Environmental Protection Department-Workplace Environment Division (EPD-WED) and are designed to enhance the well-being and the productivity of Saudi Aramco employees. These programs provide high quality support to Saudi Aramco facility management and employees in the prevention of workplace health hazards and assure that its operations do not create undue risks to Saudi Aramco employees. The division’s programs are:
Comprehensive Environment Health Assessment (CEHA)
Environmental Health Inspection Program
Industrial Hygiene Assessment
Occupational Health Hazard Assessments (OHHA)
Hazardous Materials Communication Program (HAZCOM
The Occupational Medicine Consultant primary role is to developing policies, and procedures and advise corporate management on the Occupational Medicine issues
You will have minimum of ten years of medical practice with at least five years of full-time practice in occupational medicine and, at least 3 years of internship and residency from an approved Occupational Medicine program.
You must have graduated from an accredited medical school.
You will have to be Certified by either The American Board of Preventive Medicine (Occupational Medicine)/ Faculty of Occupational Medicine of the UK/ The Royal College of Physicians of Canada).
Duties and Responsibilities
You will be required to perform the following:
Oversee and assess 3rd medical providers in the areas: Rehab/Back to work program, Time off/Attendance Management Program, Fitness for duty and Clinical assessment.
Evaluate placement physicals for compatibility with the jobs demands; periodic physicals for management of correctable conditions; special physicals for monitoring hazardous exposures; and termination physicals for documenting the validity claims.
Plan certain industrial rehabilitation services, such as frequency- selective hearing aids for cases with acoustic trauma in the Hearing Conservation Program. Recommend individual job restrictions for employees with physical and health handicaps.
Work in partnership with Industrial Hygiene to detect any job-related medical hazards.
Collaborate with Industrial Hygiene & Loss Prevention to eliminate such hazards.
Implement the Ministry of Labor’s Occupational Health and Safety Inspection Regulations.
Oversee risk management programs including surveillance, risk characterization and employee enrolment.
Advise on industrial claims when requested by the Company, Ministry of Labor, or GOSI Boards of Compensation.
Serve as the corporate consultant with regards to recent technical advances in diagnosis, treatment and prevention of occupationally related diseases.
Analyze and interpret statistical data for evaluation of component programs
Provide expert environmental consulting to all Company organizations, outside vendors and manufacturers, universities and government agencies on matters relating to his area of expertise.
Provides capital and operations program leadership by originating and carrying out environmental studies to determine potential problems and remedies to existing problems and resolve complex technical problems, increase revenue, optimize processes, protect the environment, or improve safety.
Develops and maintains Saudi Aramco General Instructions, Environmental Standards, Procedures and Design Best Practices to enhance company Environmental & Occupational Health (E&H) compliance, performance and conserve natural resources.
Direct the preparation of internal procedures or other documentation for use by other engineers and scientists in the solution of complex and unusual problems in his field.
Evaluate and introduces best practices and new Environmental technologies from all over the world to help the Company achieve Best in Class positions in the oil business.
Work on or with Task Forces assigned to investigate major environmental incidents or solve specific problems. Undertakes special assignments requiring extensive technical experience and discretion when dealing with outside organizations.
Provide environmental leadership to others assigned to assist him. Acts as a professional mentor to less senior specialists, engineers and scientists.
