Saudi Aramco’s Marine Department is seeking a highly competent Naval Architecture who can provide technical services to the Marine Department and other Saudi Aramco Organizations on Marine operations and projects. The successful candidate will apply expertise/background in the fields of structure and naval architecture and/or Marine systems (Marine Engineering). This is a shore-based job with a regular work schedule (5/2) and 8 hours/day.
B.S. degree in Naval/Marine Architecture or equivalent Marine Engineering from a recognized University, Maritime Academy, or Nautical College.
+7 years of experience in all phases of naval architecture including launching, dry-dock operations, and systems design.
Analytical problem solving, time/project management, and decision making skills.
Firm knowledge of ABS/SOLAS/MARPOL/ISM/ISPS regulations.
Practical knowledge of Naval Architecture principles and practices as they pertain to workboats.
Familiarity with Marine, Mechanical, electrical and structural engineering disciplines.
Ability to carry out hydrostatics, heat transfer, piping and structural calculations and analysis.
Familiarity with computer modeling and advanced design software.
Extensive knowledge of complex mathematical and engineering methods used for the design and evaluation of various marine systems.
Exceptional verbal and written communications in the English language, with the ability to develop clear and concise work packages.
Duties and Responsibilities
Work with multidiscipline projects and teams to produce, design and construct packages through operational requirements review, design studies, and engineering analysis.
Use complex mathematical and/or computer modeling to ensure that designs meet operational requirements and safety rules and standards of Classification Societies and other entities.
Assume the position of owner representative during construction of marine vessels and the subsequent warranty period, and be the interface between Marine Department, execution teams, end users, and the classification society.
Lead the efforts to produce accurate drawings including timely review and approval.
Carry out long-range planning for vessels replacement and/or upgrade programs in addition to projects progress and milestones.
Write technical scopes, papers and reports for all assigned tasks.
Provide engineering solutions, technical and commercial guidance, and project management for concept design studies, marine vessel construction, modifications and upgrades.
Analyze and resolve naval architecture and operational problems in any of several marine system categories by evaluating data relevant to the specified problems, including going on sea trials and tests to verify the effectiveness of the solution provided.
Evaluate data as to the scope and recommend new operating methods or physical modifications to improve existing marine craft and repair facilities.
Carry out stability calculations, inclining experiments, and review marine vessel stability booklets.
