We are seeking a fuel science specialist to join the Technical Services Division of Research and Development Center.
The Technical Services Division is responsible for providing added-value technical support, introduce cost-effective technologies, and conduct advanced analytical characterizations for Saudi Aramco operations and research teams to increase competitive advantage of Saudi Aramco, maximize profitability, improve asset integrity, and protect health and the environment.
The fuel science specialist primary role is to provide technical advice and guidance on aspects related to fuels, additives, and recommendations to mitigate any risks related to the international environmental regulations and specifications of automotive diesel and gasoline fuels. In addition, the candidate will be involved in technical problem solving related to fuel manufacturing and distribution systems.
As the successful candidate you will hold a Bachelor’s degree in a Science/Engineering discipline. A Ph.D. or M.S. degree in hydrocarbon/fuel chemistry or relevant engineering discipline, from a recognized and approved program, is preferred.
You will have 13 years of experience in the development, testing and evaluation of fuels, components, and additives for transportation and stationary plant applications.
You must have attained recognition in the industry as a subject matter expert on hydrocarbon fuels and additives, including quality monitoring, specifications, and evaluations. Good knowledge is required of fuel delivery systems, engine and large plant combustion technologies, and emissions after-treatment systems. You will be able to demonstrate your ability and knowledge on the European and/or U.S. petroleum fuels requirements. You will also have a track record of solving technical problems related to fuel manufacturing and distribution systems. You must have the ability to mentor young scientists and engineers.
Duties and Responsibilities
You will be required to perform the following:
Provide technical advice and guidance on aspects related to fuels, additives, and certifications of new fuels or additives.
Conduct short- and long-term original studies related to hydrocarbon fuels and additives.
Practice project management tools in setting project objectives, detailing experimental scope, managing the requested funds, and build effective teams to enhance the technical and professional skills of junior scientists and engineers.
Provide recommendations to mitigate any risks related to the international regulations and specifications of automotive diesel and gasoline fuels.
Lead and deploy new analytical technologies related to refined products to enhance field operations.
Identify new laboratory requirements and detail specifications of the needed equipment, to expand the current analytical capabilities.
Contribute to the Center’s intellectual capital by submitting journal publications, patents, and technical reports.
