Saudi Aramco is seeking a Senior Estimator to join the Downstream Capital Portfolio Planning Department. The successful candidate will prepare, and/or supervise the development of cost estimates for national and international projects, in accordance with Saudi Aramco procedures and guidelines.
The estimates will primarily entail Downstream Projects, e.g., Refinery, Chemicals, Pipelines and Power for Greenfield, and asset-based estimates at the conceptual or initiation phase.
Specific functions to be performed include: developing pre-feasibility studies for new business opportunities, and generating a Downstream Investment Plan covering all sectors (refining, chemicals, power, and supply systems) for both current and new facilities.
You will be expected to improve the competitiveness of the current asset base by capturing integration opportunities, and developing value creation opportunities.
As the successful candidate you will hold a Bachelor of Engineering degree.
You will have a minimum of 10 years of experience in the Engineering and Construction industry, performing, and reviewing small and large estimates for Downstream Projects.
It is preferable, but not essential, for you to have previous experience of cost control and cost analysis.
A good working knowledge is required of the Microsoft Office 2010 package, and other third party software related to cost estimating, i.e., @Risk, Aspentech (ACCE, KBASE), Timberline, Primavera, and Microsoft Project.
Duties & Responsibilities:
The successful candidate — independently and with minimum supervision — will plan, organize, direct, perform, review, and present cost estimating information.
The Senior Estimator will conduct conceptual studies, review facility configurations, and propose alternatives to minimize operating costs, or produce higher quality products.
You will identify and fully develop energy saving opportunities, and review and identify synergies between facilities, and conduct process simulation to optimize refinery or petrochemical plant operations.
As the successful candidate you will be expected to review design scope criteria and quantities for completeness and reasonableness, and coordinate with the project to develop additional estimating bases when information is incomplete.
You will supervise the collection, verification and integration of work scope into the cost estimate, including: labor rate derivation, installation rates, productivity analysis, and associated engineering and construction costs.
